Duties
This is a full-time, remote position.
The project manager performs duties related to healthcare technology management, technology assessment, technology implementation, and healthcare consulting that support the VA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM). The Cerner Corporation’s electronic health record (EHR) will replace the VA’s existing EHR. The new system increases medical device integration, and interfaces with selected clinical systems, for a more seamless diagnosis and care documentation process.
Summary of Duties:
Provide planning, assessment, and operational oversight that may support various aspects and dimensions of the VISN 12 healthcare technology management program.
Provide planning, assessment and operational oversight of specific functions and tasks related to biomedical services supporting the implementation of the new electronic health record’s medical device integration and clinical systems interface.
Direct and support biomedical equipment and device procurement package creation, development, staffing, and support for equipment and device replacement and modernization and system upgrades.
Direct and support biomedical equipment, devices, system procurement package creation, development, and support for medical system configuration changes and testing for interfaces with the Cerner electronic health record.
Direct and support on-site project management for biomedical equipment, device, and system replacement, modernization, and configuration changes leading to medical device and system integration with the Cerner electronic health record.
Direct and support on-site project management for all related task performance and tracking performed by BMET/BESS staff to achieve medical device and systems integration with the Cerner electronic health record.
Qualifications:
Project Manager:
Bachelor’s degree or higher and certification in project management (e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP).
A minimum of two years of hospital or healthcare experience planning, managing and controlling projects.
Demonstrated competency in planning, managing and controlling projects throughout their lifecycle; writing or reviewing project management documentation (including project charters, project management plan, Business Reference Model (BRM); problem solving; and risk mitigation and management.
Demonstrated mastery and skill in applying the theory, concepts, practices, and techniques consistent with the project management principles outlined in the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
Demonstrated skill in in communicating and working collaboratively with key stakeholders, including technical and professional staff at various levels of the organization.
Understanding of regulatory agencies’ requirements, industry regulatory requirements and International Standard Organization standards.
Demonstrated experience supporting cyber security and compliance requirements associated with medical equipment, devices, and systems and their integration/interface with an electronic health record.
