This is an unpaid fellowship through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program. The fellow selected for this role will not receive compensation or benefits from GDIT and will not be an employee, agent, or contractor of GDIT but rather will remain an employee of the DoD and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoD.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Security Analyst supporting CMS, a typical day will include:
Responsibilities :
Monitor AWS security services consoles, investigate alerts and events in support of established incident response procedures; perform root cause analysis of intrusions, and make real-time decisions about alerts and events as they occur; work with IT and non-IT team members as part of coordinated responses
Contribute to and assist in maintaining related policies and procedures
Contribute to the evaluation, testing, and deployment of security tools and processes
Recommend improvements to security tools, configurations, processes, and policies
Plan and implement security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data Prevent loss and service interruptions by researching new technologies that will effectively protect a network
Contribute to project FISMA authorization documentation Develop and maintain Standard Platform Configurations for AWS
Perform threat and vulnerability assessments, in some cases followed by appropriate remedial action, to ensure that systems are protected from known and potential threats and are free from known vulnerabilities.
Provide security related technical support in assisting during the development of release/build scope plans, risk management, and schedules to maintain compliance with the client software development process.
Advise and support the IT Security Manager with defining specific information security controls and policies Ensure infrastructure, applications and data security/privacy controls are maintained in compliance with customer regulatory polices–
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in an IT related field is required.
4+ years of experience
At least one IT security certification is highly preferred
Experience using AWS
Experience with AWS security services such as Cloudwatch, Config, Guardduty
Experience testing system security controls and determining security compliance with requirements.
Knowledge of information security principles, including risk assessment and management, threat and vulnerability management, incident response, or identity and access management.
Experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining security documentation
Preferred Experience:
At least one IT security certification is highly preferred
Tenable, Nessus, Confluence, Jira, or TrendMicro
DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:
Has served at least 180 days on active duty
Can participate within the last 6 months of separation or retirement
Will receive an honorable discharge
Has taken any service TAP/TGPS
Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the fellowship.
This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021 or the start date, if after December 8. Individuals who work in or reside in Texas or Montana or work outside of the United States may be excluded from this requirement.
