At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a SOFTWARE ENGINEER supporting NIWC PAC 53522, a typical day will include:

• Participate in the development of the test plan and procedures, conduct of the tests, analysis of test results, and preparation of the formal test report for the Government First Article Qualification test of the Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) block upgrades.

• Work with software defined radios (SDR) and Link 16 and Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT) waveforms.

• Prepare automated scripts and initialization loads to support the planned MIDS JTRS block upgrade Link 16 tests.

• Review results of tests of the MIDS JTRS terminal with a Platform I-Ethernet interface to verify performance.

• Update draft Link 16 sections of the MIDS JTRS Block Upgrade 3 (BU3) Test Plan based on script/load and test procedure development efforts.

• Prepare Link 16 test description and analysis sections of the block upgrade Test Procedures.

• Participate in the biweekly MIDS JTRS problem review board (PRB) teleconference.

• Dry run block upgrade software scripts and loads as assets become available.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 8+ years of experience

• Active Secret clearance

• Ability to work on-site NIWC Pacific in Point Loma San Diego as needed to support test and evaluation duties.

• Software Test and Evaluation (T&E) experience with tactical communication systems and/or related C4I systems at the systems level.

• Desired Systems Engineering experience in a DoD tactical systems acquisition environment to include subject matter expertise in acquisition programmatic and milestone decision requirements; and Systems Engineering experience with TDLs, ATDLs, and Tactical SDR Systems.
