The scope of the IT GEMS contract includes a full range of information technology (IT) services which include necessary hardware, software, and ancillary, components to support enterprise-level programs and environments. Support service areas include program management support, policy, procedures, and operations support, IT core services support, security compliance, customer and client services support, transformational IT support, and application migration support.
HOW A Sr. VMWare and Symantec Vertias Cluster Administrator WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Supports C.5.3.5 Support Cluster Management.
Lead Cluster Management in planning, implementing, and maintaining cluster environments across VMWare, Symantec Veritas, and other clustering types to ensure reliability and fault tolerance.
Oversees the installation and uninstallation of cluster software and configurations.
Creates and maintains SOPs, TTPs, and KBAs for cluster operations, documenting step-by-step processes, best practices, and troubleshooting guides and checklists for cluster management.
Applies software patches, hot fixes, and service packs to keep cluster software up to date and secure.
Coordinates with the Change Manager to plan and execute software upgrades with minimal disruption to operations.
Collaborates with the Incident and Problem Management team to analyze incidents and problems related to cluster performance, availability, and functionality and conducts root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and contribute to problem resolution activities.
Collaborates with the Capacity and Availability Management team to ensure clusters are adequately sized and optimized for current and future workloads.
Implements robust monitoring solutions and configures alerts to proactively detect and address potential issues before they impact operations.
Ensures all cluster configurations, software installations, and maintenance activities adhere to relevant security standards and compliance requirements (e.g., RMF).
Provides on-call support and rapid response in case of critical cluster incidents or emergencies.
Continuously monitors the cluster environments and provides recommendations for enhancement and optimization as part of our CSI2 program.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Security Clearance Level: Secret
5-8 years of experience, BA/BS degree or equivalent years of experience
Required Certification: IAT II, CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or equivalent
