Technical Writer II

Job Description

• Perform complex tasks involving the gathering, analyzing and compiling of data and information into well-written reports, manuals, help files, and PowerPoint presentations

• Collect data and comments from multiple sources and integrate it into a cohesive response.

• Communicate data analysis, findings, conclusions, and recommendations to a variety of audiences through static (PowerPoint presentations and briefings) or interactive presentations (Tableau), and via written reports (e.g., white papers, memoranda, information papers, emails, reports).

• Assist in requirements creation process

• Support the creation and implementation for project plans and track action items.

• Assist in creating governance processes and Standard Operating Procedures

• Support end users

• Manage multiple projects and priorities, and initiate follow up to ensure timely achievement of commitments.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, visual media, technical writing, or related field preferred

• One to three years of relevant experience

Qualifications

• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills; proofreading/editing experience preferred.

• Experience in graphic design, desktop publishing, technical writing, or illustration desirable.

• Experience with data analysis and data visualizations a plus

• Exceptional knowledge MS Office Suite particularly PowerPoint and Excel

• Ability to convert technical knowledge into easily understood terms

• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

• Familiarity with Agile project management principles preferred

• Strong strategic communication skills to include presenting quantitative concepts in easy-to-understand formats and actively listening to identify business problems and their cause

• Highly motivated and collaborative

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Additional Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with refugee and immigrant populations, a plus.

• Proficiency with social science research, and statistics/statistical software packages.
