This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

OVERVIEW

General Motors is searching for an Administrative Assistant to perform a wide range of tasks and support multiple executives. Success as the point person will rely on your excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding time management, and initiative to independently research and collect needed information. Accuracy and attention to detail when making travel arrangements, calendaring, and scheduling are key. Responsibilities

• Manage an active calendar of appointments, understand priority / urgency, and reorganize appropriately
• Expedite handling of correspondence, global e-mail requests and phone calls while maintaining a high level of discretion and communicating professionally in writing and verbally across all levels of the company and externally
• Utilize MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other technology to prepare, modify and proofread presentation materials, organization charts, reports and letters
• Complete various assignments as requested with minimal supervision, including meeting planning, floor and emergency coordinator duties, badging administration, external vendor support, and special projects
• Maintain records, confidential files and GM specific reports
• Schedule complex meetings and maintain multiple calendars
• Continuously look for ways to improve efficiencies of day to day tasks
• Support travel arrangements, Visa, Passport and associated expense reports
• Manage all aspects of office administration using independent thinking and judgment with sole discretion for office procedures
• Monitor required corporate learning and follow up with appropriate leaders when compliance is not met

Required Skills:

• Associates degree or equivalent experience
• Experience dealing with Senior Management / Executives in an administrative capacity
• Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
• Demonstrated analytical skills
• High level of interpersonal skills
• High level of problem solving ability, including independent judgment and decision-making skills
• Advanced level of proficiency in COE software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, scheduling, internet, Outlook, and knowledge of SharePoint)
• Demonstrated knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation
• Familiarity with ILM policies and procedures and ability to carry out ILM activities
• Highly proficient oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently

Education and Training:

• Two-year degree or professional certification in related field or equivalent work experience (ten years)
