Summary of Role
The Assistant Product Manager for In Market Enhancements (IME) & Over the Air (OTA) Customer Experience will assist in the following:
+ Develop and acquire strategic alignment across the enterprise of the customer experience for OTA’s
+ Support development of a strategy to maintain alignment across the enterprise for customer experience for OTA’s.
+ Establish guidelines and policies for software purchase from first to second owner.
+ Establish an IME Product Program Content (PPC) Sheet to enable communication of IME content to Engineering, Marketing, Validation & Vehicle Program Teams
About In-Market Enhancements
The goal of the IME team is to make vehicles better over time for customers after taking ownership by using Over the Air software updates and other mechanisms. The team crafts new services, digital accessories, or upgrades to the vehicle to improve the customer’s overall experience using vehicle connectivity. The team collaborates with Global Connected Services (GCS), Vehicle Brands (Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC), Vehicle Program teams and Feature Owners to develop the IME roadmap based on key market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights on how to create new value for our customers. We partner with GM’s broader technical and analytical teams to establish and execute new IME’s, as well as the marketing and communications teams to bring them to market. Overall, the team leads all aspects of the performance and quality of the services currently in market to ensure the highest customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
+ Leverage multiple data sources such as market research, analytics, customer insights, and others to manage and prioritize a set of OTA experiences
+ Partner with technical teams to execute requirements definition, development, and implementation
+ Work with product marketing to ensure ability to launch marketing strategies and share accountability for business outcomes
+ Provide direction to analytics, market research, and applied insights teams on what needs and concepts require investigation and validation to support new demand opportunities.
+ Leverage SAFe Agile practices to prioritize and manage the product backlog across all enterprise needs to determine optimal development activities
+ Manage and prioritize list of issues and enhancements that may be impeding the product’s quality or adoption performance in the market for continuous improvement
+ Distill the essence of what our customers need, and represent as well-defined product briefs, Epics, and Features to create world class experiences
+ Lead planning and product definition throughout the product lifecycle and maintenance
+ Drive global alignment and execution of new and future products and features
+ Determine integration and rollout across applicable vehicle programs
+ Coordinate with UX/UI to apply end-to-end channel strategy to develop experiences and products
+ Balance product feature requests vs. marketing, design, and other requirements
+ Anticipate customer experience and value risk throughout the technical development process
+ Define requirements and needs for product performance analytics and reporting to maintain clear visibility on how the product quality and adoption is performing i n the market
+ Direct product/service imperatives, including product/service scorecard development and financial/resource risk assessment
+ Facilitate and lead cross-functional product execution teams
+ Guide issues and uncertainties through effective decision framing and working towards resolution
+ Keep abreast of current consumer trends, competitive activity, and technology advancements
Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree required
+ Product management experience
+ Familiarity or experience with product lifecycle management
+ Knowledge of telematics, infotainment, or vehicle connectivity trends globally
+ Capacity to consolidate multiple sources of disparate information into easy to understand views for leadership
+ Ability to translate global and regional trends and insights into meaningful product attributes
+ Propensity to influence and implement ideas cross functionally with appropriate level of regionalization
+ Capability to develop product roadmap and lead product from concept to market launch
+ Experience with agile product development practices
