About the Role: Backend Developer

As a Backend Developer, you will take the lead in developing the cloud backend supporting PROTEUS software updates, data collection, and fleet management. Hosted primarily on Amazon Web Services, your role is pivotal in solving unique problems that arise. You’ll be instrumental in creating a seamless data pipeline, collecting user data, and enhancing the PROTEUS product through continuous improvement of machine learning algorithms.

Responsibilities

Develop Cloud Tools and Dashboards: Using AWS, Java, HTML5, and Parse, create tools and dashboards for effective data management.

Data Transformation and Integration: Utilize Python, REST API, and MQTT to transform and integrate data seamlessly with the PROTEUS application.

Work Planning: Develop your own work plans aligning with the PROTEUS product roadmap.

Requirements

Independent Problem Solver: Confidently write programs and solve technical problems independently.

Code Understanding: Ability to read and improve existing code written by others.

Strategic Planning: Plan computer programs before coding.

Educational Background: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience: 3+ years of backend development experience.

Nice To Have

Fleet Management Experience: Familiarity with fleet management and edge-connected devices.

Passion for Problem Solving: Personal projects or hobbies solving real-world problems with software.

Marine Interest: Recreational marine experience or a keen interest in the field.

Competitive Package: $95,000 salary with potential for incentive equity compensation.
