Gilbarco Veeder-Root Looking for Software Engineer I at United States Full Time

The Software Engineer plays an integral role within an Agile Scrum team, working collaboratively with Product Owners, Developers, Automation Developers and other Testers to complete development work in sprints. The incumbent must utilize software test engineering concepts to include test planning, design, analysis, execution, and automation of manual test cases.

The individual must be innovative, self-motivated, quick learner and willing to develop new skills while constantly improving existing abilities. This person must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, communicate effectively with team members, and be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

What You Will Do (Job Responsibilities)

• Design and Develop software for Point of Sale – core and feature enhancement.
• Port legacy code/applications and modules to new platform
• Verify and validate platform against legacy performance and full operating conditions.
• Conducting code reviews.
• Deliver quality applications as per company standards.
• Work as part of a dynamic team throughout the software development life cycle
• Be a quick learner of the internal framework.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/ME/EE and minimum of 1 – 5 years technical experience, or equivalent
• Experience working as part of an agile development team (Scrum, TDD, XP) doing in-sprint test design, execution and some automation
• Experience working closely with product owners or BAs writing user story acceptance criteria
• Experience using Jira
• Expert in C#.Net, Expert in C++
• Experience in POS solution Development.
• Solid grasp and fluent in common design patterns
• Knowledge of SQL databases
• Knowledge of HTML5 – CSS, Java
• Experience in Jira, Agile and Scrum.
• Experience in VB.net, VB is plus
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Experience reporting test metrics and status
• Experience creating XML or JSON messages with business data for testing purposes
• Test automation or scripting is a plus
• CI/CD experience a plus
• Other preferred courses/ certifications: SCM, PSM, Agile training, PCI, PA-DSS, SISA
• Experience with Linux OS environment a plus

The base compensation range for this position is $74,000 to $106,100 per year. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon a number of factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
