Seeking a full-time Medical Secretary for Glaser Dermatology, a dermatology group practice in Massapequa, NY comprised of 2 doctors, a physician assistant, nurses, secretaries, billers, and administrative staff. See us at www.GlaserDermatology.com.

The work schedule varies from 4 to 5 days per week, Monday thru Friday, for a total of 40 hours per week, divided into 8-10 hour work shifts with 45-minute lunch breaks. Occasional Saturday availability 8:30-3 is preferred (1-2/month).

The weekday hours typically run from 8:40am to 5:40pm.

Vaccination for covid is strongly preferred.

As one of our secretaries who greets patients upon their arrival, and guides them through their office visit, you are key to making a positive impact on our patients’ overall experience and impression with our office.

Medical Secretary Responsibilities:

• Front desk greeting, registration & check-out of patients
• Doing your best to address all patients’ needs
• Scheduling appointments on Medical Manager software, and confirming appointments
• Phone communications (appointments, messages, test results)
• Assisting with billing operations
• Keeping work environment running smoothly and efficiently
• Supporting the filing staff
• Maintaining office supply inventory by checking stock; placing orders; verifying receipt
• Maintaining office equipment
• Adherence to office policies & procedures including HIPAA privacy

Medical Secretary Desired Skills:

• Friendly, respectful, professional interaction with patients & staff
• Working knowledge of office policies, standards & procedures
• Maintenance of accurate, up-to-date patient files & demographic information
• Use of Medical Manager software
• Solid computer proficiency: Word, Email, Adobe pdf’s, file management, etc.
• Online retrieval of patient referrals & prior authorizations
• Medical terminology (common skin disorders, medications, and dermatology procedures)
• Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail
• Working well under pressure during busy conditions
