Our client is looking for a Technology Director to offer technical solutions to business problems and opportunities. You will work closely with business and technology client leaders on a program from inception, through to architecture, value consulting and will remain involved throughout the delivery of the project. You should have hands-on experience in multiple industries and across several disciplines.

You will work closely with Technical Architects and Lead Developers to ensure proper implementation. You will also communicate the client’s intended solutions to process owners, Technical Architects, Business Systems Analysts and System/Database Administrators. From there, you will propose, plan, coordinate and provide technical leadership for architecture activities for major applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance the technology service offering to support our growth – thinking through the business ramifications of internal vs external team; offshore teams; partner network; contract staff vs permanent staff
• Provide leadership in the development and implementation of short- and long-term technology plans and related policies and procedures
• Act as visionary and strategist for business-driven technical solutions
• Hold key Technology Partner relationships
• Partner with Business, Planning, and Creative leads to concept cutting-edge solutions using emerging technologies and trends
• Act as a senior-level counterpart to client leadership, providing technical/creative strategic direction to the client
• Evaluate client briefs and work with Experience Designers and Creative on pitches and proposals that meet both consumer and client expectations
• Work with teams to design and deliver technology solutions for best-in-class websites, applications and systems integrations
• Provide ongoing management of live systems in collaboration with client, client customer service, Quality Assurance resources and production, creative and design groups internally. That includes answering emails and delegating emergency work to Developers off-hours and weekends.
• Conceive, plan and estimate large-scale projects and determine work breakdown.
• Manage technology delivery team consisting of any and all Technology roles. Help teams avoid pitfalls of inexperience such as unrealistic promises, excessive focus on perfection at the expense of “good enough,” inability to scale application up with load, and lack of accounting for unexpected or unknown setbacks.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to provide estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan and serve as lead as required
• Oversee aspects of project life cycle from initial kickoff through requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing and deployment phases for projects within solution area.
• Mentor and guide more junior technical resources. Successfully manage people to achieve performance goals, resolve conflicts, and mentor and develop others.
• Provide technical review to help ensure projects meet cost, benefit, timeliness and integration goals.
