We are looking for experienced Assessor for our Certificate in Education and Training – Level 4

Job Purpose

Internal Verifiers manage the delivery and quality assurance of the assessment process, to ensure that workplace assessments of individuals’ competence and performance meet relevant quality standards (local, national and/or external).

They lead a team of assessors in a professional leadership role rather than as a line manager, supporting their professional development as an assessor and monitoring their performance throughout the assessment. process.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule the delivery of assessments, allocating workload appropriately to assessors and planning quality assurance activities, to ensure that all the requirements of the quality assurance process are met and meet deadlines.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of assessors, to provide assurance that internal standards are being met and to support assessor personal development planning.
• Organize and lead standardization and professional development activities for assessors to ensure a consistently high quality of assessment.
• Resolve appeals, referring these through the management chain where necessary, to ensure consistency and fairness in assessment decisions and to protect and enhance the reputation of the assessment process.
• Maintain complete records of all activities, to ensure that internal verification activities are open to wider internal and (where relevant) external quality assurance.
• Contribute to the development of quality assurance policies, practices, and standards to support consistent assessment practice and continuous improvement.
• The delivery and development of apprenticeship learners providing clear direction and information, enabling them to fulfill their role ensuring individual set targets are met.
• Providing prompt assistance for the learner queries.

Skills & Requirements

• Experience in teaching and internally verifying the CET and AET (teacher training) qualifications and delivered staff training in a wide range of subjects including Family learning, sustainability, embedding skills for life in vocational programmes, the adult literacy core curriculum, safeguarding, equality and diversity, assessing, verifying and Advice and Guidance at levels 2, 3 & 4.
• Have at least 2 years’ experience of competence-based interviewing within the last 5 years
• Held a role in teaching, assessing, and internal quality assurance in Education and Training. Has a minimum of 5 years of experience working in classroom environments.
• Hold a relevant Assessor qualification (D32/33, A1, TAQA equivalent) or EPA qualification or be working towards achieving this qualification. Fully versed with knowledge of assessment practice and techniques, including proficiency in remote assessment tools.
• Hold a relevant Internal Quality Assurer Qualification (D34, V1).
• Sound IT and digital literacy skills with proven experience of working with various Microsoft packages.
• Have current knowledge of the regulatory framework and other regulatory and legislative requirements such as safeguarding, duty of care, equality, diversity, inclusion, health, and safety.
• Educated to at least University Degree level or vocational qualifications at a similar level.
• Experience in organizing and processing internal quality assurance practices; sampling of evidence; making judgements and providing constructive developmental feedback.
• Be prepared to work in a regulated environment and be comfortable working to set standard operating procedures

Salary: £30.00-£40.00 per hour
