As Director, of Product Management for the Web Solution Group, you will be responsible for one of the most critical areas within the Developer organization in Core: the solutions for web development used across Google. In this role, you will drive Google’s software development productivity, velocity, and quality to the next level. You will own Google’s recommended server development solutions – the platforms that underpin half of Google’s servers today – and will set an agenda to expand those platforms to the rest of Google developers and to deliver more value in terms of productivity, velocity, and quality to all of Google. You will work with an excellent set of leaders in partner organizations within Core, including Engineering, User Experience, Customer Engagement, and Developer Relations, as well as engineering leaders in Product Areas across Google. You will build a product team and cultivate the next group of product leaders, driving consensus and messaging across and beyond the organization.
Lead development of solution/product vision and strategy for Developer, setting strategy and direction with expected outcomes.
Use your understanding of customer/Google needs, user insights, market dynamics and evolution, and region of interest of potential projects/investments to define prioritized needs from each product to support the solution strategy
Trim per-product requests and outcomes expectations to fit resource constraints, iteratively with stakeholders.
Engage key stakeholders, working closely with cross-functional leaders across all strategic and product areas of Google to gain buy-in, forge partnerships, and build enthusiasm for the vision.
Collaborate with product leads to align product and solution roadmaps, keeping solutions coherent when resource pressure forces tradeoffs, and owning solution outcomes and adoption. Be responsible for product rationalization where there are overlaps.
