Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, technical support, professional services, operations management, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience advocating for customers’ needs, and administering/troubleshooting network devices.
- Experience with TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, VLANs, Peering, Load Balancing, HTTP, HTML, DNS, TCP.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certified Google Cloud Engineer and/or Professional Cloud Architect.
- Experience using techniques such as packet capture/packet analysis, artificial packet creation, load testing, and traffic path analysis to troubleshoot network latency, packet loss, and other performance issues at the packet level.
- Experience with any of these cloud solutions: open source software communities, Google Cloud networking solutions, or distributed computing technology.
- Network administrator level knowledge of Linux/Unix or Windows systems.
- Ability to read/understand/debug code (e.g., Python, Shell, Perl, JavaScript).
- Advanced troubleshooting, attention to detail, verbal, and written communication skills in a fast-paced setting.

As the Google Cloud Technical Solutions Engineer, you will own customer issues in addition to providing support to our other support teams. You will be a part of a global team that provides support to help customers seamlessly make the switch to Google Cloud. When customers cannot resolve issues themselves, you will help ensure that we have the necessary tools and processes to quickly resolve the issue with as little customer effort as possible.

Responsibilities
- Develop an in-depth understanding of Google’s product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, determining the root cause for customer reported issues, and building tools for faster diagnosis.
- Manage the customer’s problem through effective diagnosis, resolution, or implementation of new investigation tools to increase productivity for customer issues on Google Cloud Platform products.
- Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
- Work as part of a team of engineers/consultants that globally ensure customer support. This will include a need to work non-standard work hours, shifts, and occasional weekend duties.
- Be able to understand customer issues and advocate for their needs with cross-functional teams.
