Calling Order Clerk (Ajax)
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Provide excellent customer service to internal/external customers
Accurately select Calling Orders in a timely and efficient manner
Maintain a clean work area
Help with receiving process when needed
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Able to work in freezer, cooler or grocery area.
Able to repeatedly lift heavy weight
Able to work with minimum supervision
Able to work well with a team as well as individually
Currently certified or capable of becoming certified on all equipment.
Available Shift
During peak seasons, scheduled overtime is required, and may include up to 13 hour shifts.
There is a 30-minute paid lunch for an 8-hour shift
GFS Delivers every day of the year, as we are a 24/7 operation. Employees must be flexible to work all Statutory Holidays, however, this does not necessarily mean that employees will be required to work all of them.
Working Conditions
Grocery is warm. Employees often wear shorts and T-shirts year round.
Cooler is approximately 1 – 2°C. Employees often wear jogging pants, sweatshirts, and a light jacket.
Freezer is approximately –15°C. Freezer equipment including thermal suits, gloves and boots are provided.
There are approximately 60 employees working per shift.
CSA approved steel-toed safety boots must be worn on the warehouse floor. Employees are reimbursed $100 per year towards safety boots with proof of purchase after 90 days of employment.
