Role
Reporting to the Executive Lead, Child Care Transformation, this position provides strategic support to senior leadership in planning and developing a vision for childcare in Alberta and managing strategic implementation of childcare transformation including the $3.8 billion Alberta-Canada Early Learning and Child Care (ACELCC) bilateral agreement.
The position is responsible for implementation planning, portfolio management and priority tracking; issues identification and management; communications and change management; federal negotiations and reporting; and fostering a partnering culture within the department, and with other Ministries.
The position ensures integration of programs impacting childcare from strategy, policy and delivery. The position works with resources throughout the department including project management, information management and technology, engagement and performance measurement to ensure Alberta’s accountabilities within the ACELCC are met.
Key Responsibilities include:
Lead the development of a child care transformation strategy, including performance measurement
Coordinate, facilitate and manage the development and implementation of a cross-divisional collaborative planning process that aligns with government’s goals for child care
Ensure effective reporting on the Alberta-Canada Early Learning and Child Care Agreement and Child Care Transformation plan
Working with the digital transformation team, ensure a digital transformation plan is in place that guides the IT needs for child care transformation
Support the Child Care Transformation branch as required.
Qualifications
This position requires a University Graduation in a related field supplemented by 4 years related experience. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.

Strategic thinking skills, including the ability to understand the “big picture” and how this aligns with divisional, ministry, cross-ministry and GoA priorities
Experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders staff, peers and partners to achieve common goals, divisional objectives and child care system outcomes
Experience managing, monitoring, tracking and reporting on the implementation and performance of complex initiatives/projects

Salary
$3,062.51 to $4,121.25 bi-weekly ($79,932 – $104.565 annually)

1 temporary full – time position (February 28, 2024 end date)
Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
