The Ministry of Justice is responsible for providing a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan; promotes safe and secure communities; and provides legal and justice policy advice to assist government. The Court Services Branch is seeking a skilled, ethical, confident individual to work at Drug Treatment Court to provide comprehensive clerical support.
As a member of a team of professionals you will be in daily contact with the public, lawyers, police agencies, community agencies and offenders. You will handle walk-in and telephone inquiries regarding court dockets and dispositions, status of accounts, explaining applicable policies and procedures, acts and regulations. You will also receive payments in accordance with court orders and perform basic accounting duties. You will also provide guidance to individuals seeking to file claims in the civil division and general applications within the jurisdiction of Provincial Court.
Your responsibilities will consist of data entry and retrieval using the Criminal Justice Information Management System (CJIMS), preparing and formatting court documents in accordance with court orders and applicable legislation using the CJIMS system or word processing software.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of legal terminology, the administration of legal documents and an understanding of the various levels of court, court processes and procedures; general office and administrative practices and procedures including handling of cash, filing systems and mail processing; computer applications, including word processing, databases and spreadsheets.

The environment in which you will work is potentially hostile, therefore, you must be able to recognize volatile situations and react appropriately. The successful candidate must demonstrate good character in order to maintain the integrity of the justice system and the people it serves and ensure confidentiality within and outside of the place of work in accordance with your Oath of Office.
Typically the knowledge and experience required for this job is obtained through a formal education program such as an office education program supplemented with legal courses, and/or a combination of education and experience.
This successful applicant of this position will work two days a week.
