The Ministry of Social Services, Lloydminster Service Centre, is seeking a well-organized, highly-motivated, energetic and proactive individual to provide administrative support in a challenging and busy work environment. At this time, typical hours of work in this position would be Monday and Friday every other week with the potential to be called in to cover employee absences therefore could be 0-100% hours. In accordance with Article 9.2A) in the PS/GE Collective Bargaining Agreement, part-time hours of work are as assigned by management and are not guaranteed. There is not a set schedule for this position.
You will respond to in-person and telephone inquiries; provide forms and applications to clients; direct clients to appropriate workers; format, proofread, enter and retrieve information using word-processing, spreadsheet and database applications; handle incoming mail brought to the reception desk; release cheques to clients; and perform other general office tasks as required.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of current computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet software, database and operating systems and/or computer hardware as well as office and administrative procedures, protocols and equipment. You will also know how to operate and maintain office equipment (such as photocopiers, telephones, fax machines, printers) in order to minimize down time and ensure efficient usage. You will be thorough, conscientious and attentive to detail to ensure quality work.
