The Career Services Branch is seeking two (2) permanent Career Service Consultants to provide support to the operation of Career Services Centres throughout the province. These positions are with the Programs and Partnerships team (locations unspecified).
Career Service Consultants are highly skilled individuals with a strong background in career and employment services and adult training methods to help provide access to education, employment and training opportunities to a wide variety of individuals in order to increase their self-sufficiency.
As a member of the Career Services team, you will work in partnership with community agencies and businesses to foster economic development and job creation. You will have knowledge of current labour market initiatives and information, methods, theories and approaches relating to client assessment and career counseling. You will have the ability to facilitate in-house workshops and career planning with a diverse range of individuals. As a Career Service Consultant, you will be familiar with the basic concepts and principals of contract and case management and will develop, negotiate and manage training and employment contracts.
To qualify, you will have relevant post-secondary training and/or experience in client assessment, career counseling, contract management, partnership development and knowledge of current trends and issues impacting the labour market. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and resume where and how they have acquired the knowledge and abilities. This information will be used for screening purposes.
The ability to communicate in French would be considered an asset, but not required. In efforts to increase diversity within Government of Saskatchewan, preference will be given to diversity applicants.
