The Ministry of Immigration and Career Training is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Director of Financial Services in Regina.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services and working with senior leaders across the ministry and Government of Saskatchewan, the Director is responsible for leading and managing the financial services of Immigration and Career Training.
This position is responsible for leading the financial services team; financial transactions; records, and banking; risk management and internal controls; financial planning; and financial reporting. You will also provide strategic expertise on financial and accounting issues, and advice and guidance on managing ministry resources.
Our ideal candidate will have progressive experience in linking strategy and operations, financial management, and accounting. You demonstrate superior communications, problem-solving, accountability, systems management skills, and have a solid track record in initiating and supporting collaborative work.
Typically, our successful candidate will have obtained the knowledge required for this position through the completion of a post-secondary degree in a related discipline combined with a professional accounting designation. A combination of skills, training, and experiences providing an equivalent background will be considered. Experience with Government of Saskatchewan accounting, budgeting, and forecasting is an asset.
