Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the Supervisory Police Officer, PQ-0083-9, you must meet the following requirements: To qualify for the Supervisor Police Officer, PQ-0083-9, you must meet the following requirements: One (1) year of specialized experience at the PQ-7 (or equivalent) level or higher. Specialized experience is defined as experience in active police work that includes: ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of others; providing administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of a unit; and working with federal, state, and local agencies concerning investigations involving incidents of mutual interest. NOTE 1: Selectee may be required to serve a one-year probationary period for supervisors as described in GPO instruction 610.9A. NOTE 2: Applicant will be subject to an Access National Agency Check with written Inquiry (ANACI) and must be able to obtain and maintain access/eligibility to classified information. NOTE 3: This position authorizes the incumbent to carry a firearm. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition [Title 18, U.S.C., Section 922(g)(9)]. A ‘misdemeanor crime of domestic violence’ is generally defined under the statute as any offense involving the use or attempted use of physical force, or the threatened use of a deadly weapon, committed by the victim’s current or former domestic partner, parent, or guardian. The term ‘convicted’, as defined in the statue, excludes any person whose conviction has been expunged, set aside, or pardoned or any person whose civil rights have been restored unless the pardon, expungement or restoration of civil rights expressly prohibits the possession of firearms or ammunition. Candidates who have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence within the meaning of the referenced statute are not qualified for this position. Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have ever been convicted of such an offense. False or fraudulent information provided by candidates is criminally punishable by fine or imprisonment. [Title 18, U.S.C., Section 1001]. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory. Note 4: Selectee will be required to possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license. NOTE 5: Firearms Requirement: This is a law enforcement position that is mandatory for officers to carry and maintain bi-annual proficiency with the firearm. NOTE 6: Applicant is considered mission essential. NOTE 7: Must have a working knowledge and be able to oversee the immediate initiation and implementation of GPO’s Emergency Notification Systems: VoIP, Fire Board, Big Voice, Net Presenter, and Everbridge. NOTE 8: Applicant will work one of the three 8-hour shifts, Monday – Friday. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Background Investigation: Secret: To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a Secret clearance. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully completed a background investigation for a Secret clearance. This review could include financial issues such as delinquency in the payment of debts, child support and/or tax obligations, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs; this security process may take between 6 weeks to 12 months. GPO will conduct an interim security clearance, pending the completion of the full investigative requirements for the final Secret clearance. The interim security clearance will be granted based on the favorable completion of preliminary checks that are accomplished as part of the security clearance process. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer if the candidate is unable to obtain an interim clearance. The selectee will work one of the three 8-hour shifts. Employee may be assigned to work any of the following shifts: Shift 1 Monday – Friday, Tour of Duty from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm. @ $89,182.00 – $127,020.00 per annum. Shift 2 Monday – Friday, Tour of Duty from 3:30 pm – 11:30 pm @ $98,100.00 – $139,722.00 per annum. Shift 3 Monday – Friday, Tour of Duty from 11:30 pm – 7:30 am @ $98,100.00 – $139,722.00 per annum.
