Our client one of Ontario’s largest construction company with over 30 plus years of service and still growing, is currently looking to hire a motivated individual to join their growing team.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Payroll Administrator with excellent interpersonal skills to support our accounting and finance department. You will be responsible for supporting the payroll function and benefits inquiries while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Responsible for full cycle of bi-weekly payroll for over 200 employees
Administer group benefits
Process payroll and reconcile payroll accounts for month end in a timely manner. This will include direct deposit, payroll deductions, taxes, submission to ROE’s etc
Good understanding of multi-provincial legislative labor laws, garnishments, CRA, EI, FMEP
Management of Company health benefits, including inquiries and reports
Maintenance of employee data which involves coordination with Controller or other departments
Maintain personnel files, updating payroll pertinent information
Completion of all payroll related Government reports
Processing year end and distribution of annual employee tax documents (T4, T4A)
Attention to detail
What you will need to qualify:
University or College diploma in business or accounting
Experience in Construction industry
2-3 years of previous experience with a payroll and benefits role preferred
Familiarity with standard accounting principles
Understand of provincial payroll legislation – all provinces
Resolve all payroll inquiries.
Verify and process timesheets for salaried employees
Verify and process expense reports
Calculate nd process WSIB remittance
Reconcile payroll GL’s
High degree of integrity, reliability and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and awesome interpersonal skills
