We are seeking an experienced and energetic Product Owner to join one of our brand-new product squads. Initially focusing on the scalability, performance and reliability of our Content Management System (CMS) and later moving on to a plethora of exciting CMS web technologies and solutions – both web facing and admin facing.
You work as part of a team of experts in development, design, and testing, adding your own expertise in customer centric product management and delivery, so that together your team can deliver on the Granicus mission to help government serve better. You and your team use agile methodologies and prototype-driven development practices to deliver shippable increments of work.
This means that you deliver results iteratively, supporting your Squad to move past roadblocks and focus on outcomes.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
· Agile product delivery
o Act as the agile product owner on a full stack product squad
o Own and prioritise the backlog for scalability in collaboration our Product Manager
o Prioritise trade-offs, clarify requirements and work to encourage well understood business outcomes, early prototypes and regular shippable increments of work
· Team communication and health
o Participate in sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings and provide feedback to the team – facilitating resolutions to roadblocks wherever they present themselves
o Provide and enable regular feedback as work progresses, to ensure it represents the needs of our business and users
o Maintain constant communication inside and outside of your team
· Reporting and uptake
o Enable other internal teams to support and drive uptake of new and improved the product capabilities you build as a team
o Report on progress
o Support on internal and customer facing documentation and training – both technical and non-technical
· 4+ years of experience as a product person working in a product team
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability champion and influence change
· Ability to work with an entirely distributed team, across time zones
· Experience with enterprise content management systems or similar web platforms
· A passion for customer centric and human centred design principals backed by strong analytical skills
· Relentless commitment to prioritisation, including the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, work constructively with stakeholders, work with limited supervision
