Opportunity
MacEwan University is seeking a highly-skilled Financial Aid Advisor to join our Office of the University Registrar (OUR) on a full-time continuing opportunity. Reporting to the Associate Registrar, the Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for providing a high level of service to understand, anticipate, identify, and resolve issues involving tuition, fees, scholarships, awards, bursaries, and student loans.
The Advisor will provide expert advice and direction to ensure students are informed about their fees, and financial aid options, and are supported during their studies at MacEwan University.
In addition, the successful candidate will support the OUR in managing the University’s annual Scholarship, Awards and Bursaries program.
SKILLS
The successful candidate will possess:
the ability to work in a team environment
the ability to creatively problem-solve, organize and prioritize tasks and work independently
excellent oral and written communications skills
strong conflict resolution skills
the ability to be non-judgmental and empathetic is required
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related university degree
A minimum of three years of working experience in a post-secondary environment providing advice and assistance to clients
Familiarity with registration and student financial accounts
Experience working with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions would be an asset
