JOB DESCRIPTION: SHELF STOCKER

REPORTS TO: Project Manager (PM) or assistant PM

Function Main: Performs the following tasks in a warehouse/grocery store environment:

• Receives palletized merchandise and segregates by commodity and sales floor location. Merchandise refers to perishable, semi perishable and non-perishable food and household items.Moves merchandise from warehouse location to sales floor for stocking.
• Cleans, dusts, wipes down merchandise and shelves on sales floor.
• Ensures merchandise is stocked in correct location, in proper quantities and following to pre-determined stocking requirements according to labels.Ensures merchandise is rotated by date to prevent expire merchandise on the sales floor.
• Removes damaged or outdated merchandise and maintains sales area to give a neat and full appearance.
• Documents cases stocked on stocking sheets and ensures government personnel sign stocking sheets for verification.
• Maintains store restrooms and ensures paper dispensers are filled, prevents trash from overflowing.
• Responds to calls for clean ups due to customer spills or to remove damaged, broken or spoiled merchandise.

Equipment/ Materials to use:

• Manual pallet jacks, step ladders, stocking carts, cleaning cart
• Cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, buckets, dust pan, vacuum.
• Eye protection, ear protection and gloves are sometimes used.

Physical requirements:

The job requires constant bending, squatting, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout the workday. It is necessary to use step stools. Prolonged standing typically for 6 hours.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• shelf stocking: 1 year (Preferred)
• Warehouse experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

• English (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Forklift Certification (Preferred)
