Senior DevOps Engineer
As the Senior DevOps Engineer, you are responsible for supporting application design; automation; development by vendors; quality testing; technical support and implementation of Great Southern Bank’s applications through the full implementation life cycle. You will be responsible for maintaining 24×7 business critical platforms servicing 150,000+ daily logins across multiple digital channels.
You will contribute to technical architecture design and develop application roadmaps. You will mentor, train and support other team members and provide expert technical advice. You will develop and enhance automation scripts as well as engage with stakeholders to improve processes. You will be viewed as a senior member of the team and expected to provide relief support to the Platform Applications Support Manager as needed.
A little bit about you
- At your best when juggling multiple priorities and driving for results, whilst keeping to a budget
– Experienced with containers – OpenShift 3/4, Docker
– Understanding of programming languages used in CD/CI pipelines – C#, Java, Python, Groovy
- Automation and orchestration tools e.g. Jenkins, Rundeck
- Application Support experience in a similar role with significant experience in supporting critical customer facing applications
- Troubleshooting tools e.g. Splunk, SOAP UI, Postman
- Working knowledge of networking (load balancing), Web Apps and server/client technology with an understanding of middleware and intermediary applications
– Experience with the Atlassian suite – Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, OpsGenie, StatusPage
– Demonstrated Experience managing a large Red Hat Enterprise Linux (7/8) and Microsoft Windows Server (2012/2016/2019) – including the installation and support of applications (80% Linux / 20% Windows)
- System change management experience in a change-controlled environment
- Demonstrated relationship management, consulting, negotiation and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated strategic & tactical thinking with proven implementation of successful people strategies
- Experience with web usability and navigation standards (including web browser features and limitations)
- Experience with programming or scripting language knowledge including Bash, Ansible and PowerShell would be desirable.
- Experience with 3rd party Cloud Platforms (AWS) and technologies like NW2S and Stax
