We are in a search for an Embedded Software Engineer for an innovative robotic automation instruments manufacturer based in Brisbane. This is a permanent opportunity to join an expanding R&D team in delivering highly technical laboratory automation solutions that are sold all over the world.

Key responsibilities:

• To lead and mentor a small team to develop and deliver products from concept to production with a Customer Centric approach
• Ensure that designs are fit for purpose and meet cost, quality, compliance and schedule requirements
• Make high level software architecture decisions

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Software Development;
• More than 10+ years experience with firmware design and development for Innovative Solutions
• Experience programming in C and C++for embedded systems (ARM Cortex M)
• Experience with SQL and Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS), especially Zephyr RTOS
• Willingness to participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including deployment and maintenance
• Experience in design and debugging of resource limited devices
• Experience with DevOps and* Linux *would be desirable
• Knowledge on how to use electrical and hardware schematics
• Driven to work across a wide variety of projects from novel research to high volume manufacturing
• Knowledge of unit/integration/system testing and experience with distributed control systems is a plus
