This client is a privately owned geotechnical specialist with offices in the US, New Zealand and Australia. They have a solid commitment to their people and pride themselves on the culture within the business. They have a good understanding of the local employment market conditions and reward their staff accordingly with bonuses and ownership options as you progress upward through the company. Their forward order book and work in hand are healthy but not crazy. They have a system in place to work on projects across all their offices, which seems to work well, so there is a variety of projects and a proven review process from senior people.

To be put forward to the client for the position of Engineering Geologist, you will ideally be able to demonstrate that you have previous experience scoping and running small to medium-sized ground investigations. It would be best if you were building on your understanding of the local ground conditions, sampling collection methods, drilling techniques, logging, test pitting, lab scheduling, OH&S, proposal writing, project management, building ground models, and report writing of basic factual and interpretative reports. Exposure to construction support would be beneficial too.
