Location: Southwark
Contract: 12 months with possible extension

Groundwork London works with communities across the capital to transform their lives and the places they live. We have been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 25 years, and today we have a simple mission: to create better places, improve people’s prospects, and promote greener living and working. We are passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny, and no-one is held back by their background or circumstances.
Groundwork is excited to be involved in a pioneering project which supports the government priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people through Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP) based in schools. The EMHP role provides an excellent opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors.
With the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in Southwark, this pioneering project will involve designing a bespoke offer, based on each school’s individual needs and supporting the implementation of a Whole School Approach (WSA) to mental health across the borough.
All applicants to the Education Mental Health Practitioner Programme will be required to undertake Postgraduate Diploma level training at King’s College London alongside a work placement.
Applicants will need to be ready to start work in early/mid-January 2022 and posts cannot be offered to candidates unless they can guarantee this start date.
Shortlisted candidates will also need to submit an application form to KCL for a place on the Diploma in Education Mental Health Practice. The application form details are attached and will need to be completed at the same time as your application for a post.
