Grundfos Holding A/S Hiring for Welder at Selma, AL Full Time

Peerless Pump, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking an experienced Welder to join its Selma Production Team.

This position reports directly to the Production Manager and will operate Monday-Friday and will read and interpret blueprints to perform measured layout and skillful operation of MIG, TIG, arc and oxyacetylene welding to produce a quality finished part and/or mountings..

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Uses the following equipment: Mig, Tig, arc welder, and the oxyacetylene.
• Will read and interpret blueprints, sketches and job orders. Will perform accurate layout and set up, using fixtures and jigs as necessary.
• Produces acceptable welds in all positions.
• Selects proper procedure, fillers, and equipment for various types of welding.
• Checks shop tickets, heat numbers, and rough castings to verify that the correct parts are being welded.
• Notifies supervisor of known or suspected problems with equipment, drawings, or parts.
• Logs all parts welded in ledger.
• Operates machines as required.
• Keeps work area clean.
• Exercises care in the use of company equipment and tools.
• Observes all safety programs and safety practices.
• Performs other duties and necessary.
• Grinding and deburring.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Physical & Environmental Requirements:

• The job requires lifting up to 70 pounds, bending, squatting, walking and being on your feet for the shift.
• Exposure to dust, noise, heat beyond shop conditions, and exposure to ambient heat in summer required to wear welding protection.
• Ability to work in factory environment

Education and Experience:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or minimum 6 months related experience and/or equivalent combination of both.
