Class Summary

This class is responsible for serving as a liaison to other departments, assisting in the management of projects, assisting with budgets, providing oversight to a section of customer service, and performing advanced administrative support duties. Some incumbents may supervise other staff. May require a high degree of confidentiality.
The grade of this position is B23(1).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.;
Valid Driver’s License from State of residency;
Four years of administrative support or related office experience;
Up to one year of specialized or technical training in administrative support or related field;
Or, an an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality;
Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline orientated environment; and
MUST SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE A COMPREHENSIVE BACKGROUND PROCESS, INCLUDING: CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE USE, CRIMINAL, DRIVING, AND EMPLOYMENT HISTORY CHECKS.

- Employees can choose a contribution rate of 5.0% or 7.5%
- Gwinnett County will contribute 7.0% of your pensionable earnings per pay period.
- An employee is fully vested in 5 years. An employee can retire if he/she has reached the age of 55 and the sum of his/her age and years of service equals 65.
- Deferred Compensation Plan
- If you contribute at least 3% of your base pay to the 457(b) plan, Gwinnett County will contribute an additional 1% to your Defined Contribution Retirement Plan (this is in addition to the 7% described above).
