Hargrove and Associates, Inc. Hiring for Senior Process Engineer at Theodore, Alabama Full Time

Hargrove is now hiring a Senior Process Engineer to join our Technical Services team in Theodore, AL!

Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university is required.

Experience: This position requires 5-10+ years of relevant industrial experience in chemical, petroleum, or biochemical process design engineering. Additional experience in process engineering including process design, process optimization, and support of production processes is preferred.

This position is generally responsible for performing all aspects for complete designs of process engineering assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision on-site at a Chemicals facility in Theodore, AL. A knowledge and experience with process simulation (Aspen Engineering Suite) and engineering applications (Comos FEED, SmartPlant P&ID) is preferred but not required.

Local candidates preferred. COVID – 19 vaccination is a requirement of the client to work at this facility. The ideal candidate will be available for some travel as needed for the assignment.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Provide process engineering support to production and operations

• Support conceptual (FEL 2 leading to +/- 25 percent estimate), basic (FEL 3 leading to +/- 10 percent cost estimate), and detailed engineering phases as well as construction and commissioning during investment projects

• Prepare process engineering deliverables for investment projects (e.g., PFDs, P&IDs, Equipment Specifications)

• Act in assigned roles within capital investment projects (e.g., Process Engineer)

• Promotes the culture of working safely and applying safety related concepts into process design.

• Basic knowledge of chemical/biochemical process engineering and chemical/biochemical process computer programs.

• Familiarity with specifications and installation details of equipment, instrumentation, and piping.

• Ability to create accurate process engineering documents from the information provided in vendor equipment data and drawings.

• Complete understanding of the skills and experience required to perform process engineering and design functions.
