Harter’s Lakeside Disposal is a family owned, multi-generation, and GROWING company!!! We currently have an opportunity for an Accounting Assistant.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a hard-working, Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper to perform a variety of financial tasks. These include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You will run accounting software programs to process billing, business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements. The Accounting Assistant will be involved in purchasing and payroll functions and import tracking. A successful Accounting Assistant will ensure that the Harter’s Lakeside Disposal’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively while supporting all functions in a small office environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable, including simple bookkeeping and banking tasks
• Billing through Harter’s back-office systems
• Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
• Prepare general ledger postings and statements
• Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
• Process biweekly payroll
• Monitor and order office supplies
• Track imports and prepare accompanying paperwork
• Assist and support all company personnel
• Provide customer, salesmen and supplier support

Qualifications :

• Practical accounting experience
• Previous office experience a plus
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Multitasker and well organized
• Integrity and a willingness to learn
• Positive attitude to support all areas of a small office environment
• High school degree
• Associate degree or relevant certification is a plus
