Bachelor’s Degree
A minimum of 5 years experience in project or program management, which can include relevant experience in academia, educational technology, instructional design, web development, software development, or media production.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
A background in instructional design or education more broadly is optional, but would be an asset.
Expertise in technical skills would be an asset, including familiarity with some tools such as Airtable, Github, the Adobe Creative Suite, Javascript or Python, and so on, but more important is an aptitude for learning new skills and enthusiasm about doing so.
Experience with team-based creative projects in areas such as educational technology, web development, media production, game design, museum curation or UI/UX design. Interested in developing skills and knowledge at the intersection of higher education, art, and technology.
Familiarity and willingness to explore a variety of project management platforms and digital communications.
Ability and willingness to work some nights and weekends.

Takes the lead in developing plans and timelines for Learning Lab projects.
Manages the documentation of and reporting on Learning Lab projects and activities; designs and implements strategies for capturing and organizing the work of our staff and fellows using Airtable, Slack, and other digital tools.
Assists the Director of the Learning Lab with communications to faculty, staff, students, and other interested parties.
Manages scheduling and calendaring for all program offerings. Manages all systems that allocate space, staff, equipment, and other Learning Lab resources.
Identifies and communicates tasks to Learning Lab students, LHT/temporary workers, and external vendors to ensure successful program implementation.
Liaises with key units across Harvard to develop best practices for the accessibility of instructional activities and materials, and monitors Learning Lab projects to ensure these practices are followed.
Plays a role in hiring, training, and scheduling Learning Lab students, casuals, temporary workers, and external vendors.
Researches and tests new information and project management tools and communicates these to staff.
Plans and staffs after-hours events for the Learning Lab.
Creates guides to Learning Lab processes and tools.
May contribute as part of a team to offer direct instruction to students on certain tools and methods, depending on the Project Manager’s expertise.

Job Summary:
The Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning supports educational excellence and equity in Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS). The Bok Center’s Learning Lab is an intergenerational team composed of staff and undergraduate and graduate fellows, as well as a studio space built to support creative approaches to teaching and learning. In collaboration with faculty, the Learning Lab team explores, designs, and builds innovative materials, assignments, and activities for Harvard courses, and partners with faculty and students on an array of media-rich projects related to teaching, learning and the communication of academic ideas.
Reporting to the Director of the Learning Lab, the Learning Lab Project Manager is a key member of the Learning Lab team. The Project Manager works closely with the Director of the Learning Lab to determine project goals and then independently develop and monitor project plans, task lists, and deadlines. The Project Manager takes the lead on communications with clients, project reports, and the design and maintenance of the Learning Lab’s project and information management systems.
