The Whipple Lab at Harvard University has a full-time position available for a Research Assistant I that will provide comprehensive technical support for projects related to gene expression regulation in neurons by non-coding RNAs. The successful candidate will perform tasks related to the research project independently, but subject to review by supervisor.

The Whipple Lab at Harvard University has a full-time position available for a Research Assistant I. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to provide comprehensive technical support for projects related to gene expression regulation in neurons by non-coding RNAs. The primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:

• Assist with experimental design;
• Perform experiments involving mammalian cell culture, including mouse embryonic stem cells and mouse neurons;
• Perform experiments using standard molecular cell biology techniques, including bacterial cloning, genetic engineering, flow cytometry, and high-throughput sequencing;
• Collect and record data from experiments; process, organize, and summarize data.

The successful candidate will perform tasks related to the research project independently, but subject to review by supervisor.

Background in and knowledge of biology or biological sciences.

B.S. degree in biology or biological sciences strongly preferred.

Basic knowledge of general laboratory practices and procedures is required.

At least one year of laboratory research experience is strongly preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Must be well-organized with attention to detail.

Must be self-motivated with excellent time-management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

This position does not offer hybrid remote/in person work flexibility. There is an expectation that employees be able to work in person in Cambridge, MA.
