Department:BiostatisticsPre-Employment Screening:Identity Job Function:General Administration Position Description: Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:
Serve as the administrative contact for up to six faculty members, including one senior faculty member and her associated research program.
Prepares mailings and supporting materials for meetings and events
Arranges meetings among department faculty and external leadership; Coordinates meeting dates, locations, etc. with internal and external participants
Arrange international and domestic travel and accommodations for department faculty and their affiliated trainees
Reviews, assesses, routes, answers and monitors follow-up action steps on correspondence with internal and external stakeholders
Independently drafts emails, letters, and other correspondence for faculty
Compile and prepare monthly corporate card statement and out-of-pocket expenses for reimbursement, including domestic and international travel for faculty and their affiliated trainees
Assist with Department events and other projects a needed
Support faculty with formatting of CVs and obtaining PMCIDs for publications
Manage inventory and purchases of office and kitchen supplies
Provides for smooth day-to-day flow of communications within the unit
Performs other duties as assigned

Our 70+ faculty are leaders in the development of statistical methods for clinical trials and observational studies, studies on the environment, computational biology, and genomics/genetics. We offer degree programs in biostatistics, computational biology and data science; currently, more than 200 students are enrolled in these programs.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Communications & Events, the Administrative Assistant performs a wide range of administrative duties for a very busy and diverse department focused on research and teaching. The incumbent will work with minimal supervision performing a wide range of complex and confidential administrative and clerical support duties, which requires using multiple software applications including MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint), Outlook calendar and email.
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations, effective administration, and clear communications.
