About the Role
Hastings Deering is currently recruiting for a ‘Senior Systems Administrator (Cloud Engineer)’ to join our expanding IT Platforms team. Based in Archerfield office, this is a permanent full-time opportunity working Monday to Friday, offering free onsite parking and work from home options.

This integral role provides technical direction, guidance, mentoring and coordination to the server team of system changes and maintenance ensuring quality and risk are planned, architected and managed effectively.

Reporting to the Manager – IT Platforms, the key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Develop and standardise Azure services
• Perform systems monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting and escalating issues, including proactive problem resolution on complex problem analysis as necessary, to maintain systems performance to meet business demand.
• Manage or deliver to infrastructure related projects that promote scalable, redundant and flexible solutions to address both new and ongoing IT challenges.
• Work with the Infrastructure Architect and Manager IT Platforms to establish an optimsed cloud/on prem technical capability and operations
• Assist in knowledge transfer to local and regional technical staff
• Mentor junior members where appropriate
• Templatise potential recurring builds and hand it over to the infrastructure team member to execute, or to the infrastructure run

About You
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

• Tertiary qualifications in in Information Technology or demonstrated equivalent experience
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Extensive experience managing core Microsoft infrastructure including Azure, Windows Servers, Cisco UCS hardware, VMware and Commvault backup technology’s, Cloud Platforms and Active Directory
• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Exposure to working in an Agile environment beneficial
• Strong sense of initiative, ability to self-start and interest in owning their own projects
• Experience of working with 3rd party suppliers to deliver projects and service levels
• Ability to analyse and recommend solutions to any technical incident/problem in a timely manner
• Experience in Data protection and delivering services to meet SLA’s
• Project management skills/Qualifications will be desirable, however not essential
• Relevant technical certification: Cloud Certification, MCSE / MCSA, Cisco UCS or ITL certification will be advantageous
• Experience working in Caterpillar dealership or similar business structure considered highly
