Taitara Mahi – Collections and Content Assistant

Permanent part time position

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic librarian with a can-do attitude to join our Collections and Content Services team working across all our library sites. This is a permanent part-time position based at the Hastings War Memorial Library, but working at all library facilities.

The key objective of this position is to process and maintain library collections plus front of house customer service within Hastings District Libraries. Some weekend work will occasionally be required.

This position would be ideal for someone with outstanding people skills, an eye for detail but an appreciation of the bigger picture, proven productivity and the ability to adapt to a range of systems, devices and platforms.

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience in collections work
• Experience in a library consortium environment would be an advantage
• Strong commitment to customer service
• Professional library qualification preferred
