The Area Operations Manager position is a senior role and member of the District Lead Team. The key focus is strategic oversight, ownership of key stakeholder relationships, and management of people leaders. The AOM provides tactical leadership to the people leaders in the district, leading and planning EAS response performance in line with the National Ambulance Strategy.
We are looking for an experienced manager, with proven ability to lead others and drive operational excellence, ensuring the team deliver the best possible outcome for patients. Your focus will be on operational detail and delivering on the strategy. Along with proven experience at a tactical management level, the required key skills include relationship management and developing partnerships, supported by an understanding of clinical matters and in-depth knowledge of the challenges facing health and social care.
We are looking for a leader with innovative thinking and ability, with the skills and experience to turn ideas into effective and achievable operational and performance plans. A leader who has a partnership approach to building and maintaining relationships with the communities we serve, including iwi, hapū and whānau. In addition, a leader who supports St John’s commitments under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and will place emphasis on improving Māori health equity.
