Hawksworth are recruiting for an innovative scale-up based out of the Gold Coast and expanding their team as they embark on an exciting journey to launch their product into the US. They are well established, with a clear vision and future and now ramping up their development teams to further deliver an enhanced solution fit for the US market. This role is a people leadership role, to help build and grow a team, enhance performance and ensure quality output for the team. You will be involved as a key technical and architectural point and be involved in a range of strategic decision and empowering the team to do the same.

Working within a growing team you will be responsible for growing out a new team to continue to build new features, ensure all roadblocks are elevated and liaise with the business to ensure success in delivery of these features. This role offers a fully remote opportunity with occasional visits to the sunny Gold Coast office for strategic leadership and team events as required.

This role offers the chance to demonstrate your leadership capability, proven experience in working within a similar role is required. They are looking to recruit someone passionate around development, delivery of quality solutions and helping to get the best out of their team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the team and offering technical direction and solutions with 2+ years prior management experience
• Planning priority and workload for the team
• Experience in leading the recruitment, hiring and retaining of software developers
• Strong communication skills including interviews, stakeholder management and communicating technical specifications and workflows
• Solid knowledge of SDLC and coding princples
• Mentoring and developing other developers within the team
• Understanding highly-responsive, robust and maintainable code for a pleasant user experience using React and having a strong full stack development understanding.
• Identifying architectural issues and roadblocks to help ensure team efficiency
• Identify and explore technical opportunities for improvement and business optimisation and user functionality
• Experience with cloud and container technologies, basic CI/CD pipelines and end to end testing
