Hays Accounting and Finance have partnered exclusively with Skellerup Foam Group, a joint venture between Ultralon Foam International Limited (UFI) and Nexus Performance Foams Limited (NPF) on the recruitment of a new Financial Controller based at their Auckland HO in Otahuhu. Both companies are leading manufacturers of speciality foams and composite soft materials, servicing global markets.

As trusted subsidiaries of the NZX listed Skellerup Holdings Limited, Ultralon and Nexus Foams hold strong technical experience and capabilities which enable them to design, manufacture and produce a wide variety of engineered foam solutions. Supplying customers on both a local and international scale, their extensive market knowledge and reputation allows them to service numerous industries such as Marine, Sports, Construction, Medical, Electronics, Transport, and they aim to build new partnerships every day!

Your new role

UFI and NPF are supported by a shared service finance function, headed by the Financial Controller. The Financial Controller is responsible for all the accounting activities of UFI and NPF and providing analytical and commercial support to the General Manager – Skellerup Foam Group. The role also requires liaison with the US-based Finance Manager.

In addition, day to day duties will include but not limited to;

• Reporting results, including analysis of variances to standard cost, budget and forecast
• Maintenance of accurate product costing to drive good decision making
• Improving business processes and systems
• Co-ordination and preparation of the annual budgets 
• Overseeing the receivables and payables functions
• Ensuring compliance with indirect tax requirements
• Preparation of annual income tax returns
• Any other reporting obligations as a NZX listed company

What you’ll need to succeed

You will be an experienced (minimum 5+ years) Chartered Accountant and ambitious finance professional, ideally from a manufacturing environment including leadership experience and exposure to a company with external reporting requirements. Furthermore, you will hold capability to enhance business processes and improve the quality of information captured and utilisation of information systems. Also, you will have a good understanding of IFRS and NZ income and direct tax requirements alongside solid spreadsheeting skills.
