Your new role

The Lead Cloud Engineer is responsible for leading and executing the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of Cloud computing. The role is responsible for leading and undertaking the development, documentation and evaluation of relevant policies, frameworks and standards for Cloud testing, security, and integration. As a senior member of the Application Services Team, your role will involve building and maintaining productive working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, delivering a high level of subject matter expertise and promoting skills and knowledge transfer across the directorate and wider project environments to build Cloud capability and capacity. Your extensive experience in building platforms and foundations, workload migration, optimisation, automation, and continuous improvement will help you to succeed in this role.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Extensive experience strategically planning, leading, and evaluating the design, architecture, execution and support of critical cloud solutions, infrastructure and storage related programs including working with internal and external service providers and vendors to manage competing priorities and facilitate seamless service delivery within a large and complex organisation.
• Extensive experience in technically leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams in the end-to-end delivery of critical and complex Cloud solutions, infrastructure and storage related projects that operationalise reliable, secure, and well supported solutions, including leading, managing, and evaluating procurement, contract, and vendor management activities.
• Extensive experience leading and undertaking complex investigations, formulating a range of proposals, recommendations, and high-level reports appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences, and engaging with key stakeholders to achieve a high level of commitment, support, and involvement.
• Extensive and contemporary knowledge of cloud application, integration and infrastructure architectures, solution design, storage, security frameworks and Cloud Services standards, methodologies, and tools, including Azure.
• Comprehensive knowledge of strategic planning processes, ICT project management, governance, assurance, evaluation and change management methodologies and detailed knowledge of related government policies, their application in relation to agency operations and their relevance for use in sensitive and highly regulated health environments.
• COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement under the Emergency Management (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination) (COVID-19) Directions 2021 to work in a SA Health/health care setting.
