An exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer at a reputable Financial Services organisation

Hays Technology are currently partnered with a valued client in the Financial Services industry in finding a Senior Software Engineer.

This is an initial 6-month engagement with opportunities to extend and is based within the Brisbane CBD.

The start date for this role is as soon as possible and the selected candidate is expected to hit the ground running in an existing high performing development team.

Your new role

In this role you will set the technical direction for Java API development in support of strategic projects and programs of work

Daily responsibilities will also include:

• Driving team vision by working closely beside fellow
• Senior Software Engineers Prioritize and drive Automation in delivery
• Embed a DevOps mindset and practices within the team
• Identify technical improvements that will benefit the business
• Provide input to or develop business systems solutions, estimations, and implementation decisions
• Ensure solutions meet requirements and deliverables
• Support creation, maintenance, and reuse of development assets
• Perform unit and integration testing on developed code
• Utilise agile principles and practices

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will have:

• High level knowledge of API development
• Experience working in the BI industry or specifically with Data
• Experience with DevOps processes and Cloud services (AWS)
• Experience with Java development IDE’s such as Eclipse or IntelliJ
• Experience in working under a SOA-based system(s)
• Experience working with and developing continuous Integration approaches
