Your new company

This client are a Media and Communications team within a Federal Government agency who oversee a specific area of Environment. Due to a gap in their team they require an experienced Web Developer to join their team on a 9 month temporary role, starting immediately.

Your new role

The Web Developer codes, tests and administers web sites and services, while supporting the users of these services. This involves building technical solutions with a focus on user needs, and making sure web services are accessible, inclusive and secure. The role will be responsible for writing high-quality code and diagnosing technical problems before they affect user experience. The Web Developer works in a small team and needs to collaborate well with other staff and be flexible and able to support the work of the Media and Communications section more broadly.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Demonstrated broad and well-developed technical knowledge and experience in web technologies, particularly authoring in HTML5 and CSS3/SCSS, with a solid understanding of responsive web design and progressive enhancement.
• Demonstrated ability to code in PHP and native JavaScript. Experience in Linux system administration, Nginx web servers, SQL and database servers, would be an advantage.
• Understanding of and commitment to web standards, accessibility, usability and information architecture – particularly in relation to the production of large government websites.
• You are an Australian Citizen HTML
