Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
Supervise and support a team of AP Administrators to ensure smoothness of daily operations.
Ensure accounting transactions are recorded in conformity with company policies and procedures.
Identify areas to increase efficiency and improve accounting processes; working with the Manager, AP to implement process improvement.
Identify financial accounting opportunities and alternatives to meet company objectives.
General
Maintain cheque stock.
Check CFP accounts exceptions daily and process stop payments.
Process GST/HST by the end of the month.
Process Expense Reports; visa transactions and personal/travel expenses.
Work on special projects as assigned by Senior Management.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role or leading a team is required
5-7 years’ experience in full cycle accounts payable processing
Experience with electronic purchase order and implementation an asset
Advanced computer skills (Excel, Power Point, Word) a must
Systems proficiency with electronic purchase orders & accounting software is required
Experience with Yardi is an asset
Qualifications:
Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond appropriately.
Ability to work and act independently using good judgment when assessing difficult situations.
Self-motivated individual who is proactive, takes initiative, goal and results oriented and work independently without a lot of direction.
Superior organizational and time management skills in order to multi-task/prioritize and work under tight timelines and meet multiple deadlines.
High attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
Superior attention to details and accuracy with excellent follow-up skills.
Good leadership skills
Provide superior customer service to internal business units.
Excellent communication is required. Ability to speak other languages is considered an asset
