TheSurgery Scheduleris responsible for the scheduling of phone and faxed requests for the Operating Room in a prompt and courteous manner. This position schedules pre-admission appointments and manages difficult and interdepartmental scheduling with minimal delay to the customer.
The Scheduler also has the following duties:
* Correctly utilizes scheduling features of Meditech system and accurately enters all mandatory information.
* Provides instruction to patients and physician’s staff on test preparation and registration information.
* Establishes and maintains a working knowledge and vocabulary of procedures scheduled.
* Manages daily operations including but not limited to: Meditech, Orders Management System, Call Center Equipment (phones, etc.), fax machines, printers.

  • Knowledgeable of medical terminology
  • Minimum of 1 year in a clerical position, preferably in a surgical environment
