Role : Sales Director – New Business Development – Canada

As part of HCL with 10bn US$ annual revenue and more than 150.000 employees globally, HCL Technologies is serving leading global enterprises by providing best in class Infrastructure Services, Engineering and R&D Services, Application Services and BPO.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience (at least 5 in large outsourcing situations) as a Hunter (New Business Development) in the chosen market. He/She should possess demonstrable experience in identifying and closing complex, multi-million-dollar technology outsourcing contracts.  This executive develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of all facets of the business development process, along with demonstrating strong financial, business, and industry insights and consultative selling skills that can be applied to opportunities across the business unit. 

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Extensive experience interacting, presenting, and working with C level executives (CEO, CIO, etc). Ability to meet such executives independently to qualify opportunities
• Demonstrable experience in creating opportunities from a defined territory by using sales 101 – cold calling, industry memberships, local connects, utilize their Alma Mater alumni’s
• Excellent client interaction and relationship building skills with ability to work with both middle and executive management.
• Ability to gather, by way of meetings, expert knowledge of client’s strategy, business priorities and initiatives to develop compelling and innovative buying visions, from HCL’s Infrastructure solution portfolio, that will resonate with senior client executives to attain business unit, country/area or international objectives.
• Experience of having worked with outsourcing advisors.
• Ability to collaborate and negotiate with team members and other HCL resources to define approaches and strategies to meet customer requirements and develop win / win solutions to specific tactical project problems and issues.
• Plan and engage in substantive dialogues and very complex negotiations between HCL management, client management and other parties which meet business requirements and often result in long-term agreements and commitments.
• Anticipate, recognize and address very complex problems relating to the business development discipline, client opportunities, and business unit measurements and business development metrics. 
• Analyze business situations and implement innovative solutions, or develop new and creative approaches or procedures. 
• Assess risk in terms of business value and exposure to both HCL and the customer.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a matrix environment.
• Ability to travel as needed 

Qualifications and Skills: 

• 10+ years of progressive, relevant experience business development experience in selling complex transformative  project in different verticals
• A hands-on executive who will successfully assimilate into the corporate culture and become involved as a member of the high-performing team.
• Demonstrates the ability to think strategically and develop key account-specific strategies to navigate complex multi-stakeholder sales cycles
• Proven ability to lead teams to prospect, cultivate, and sign new logos / open new market segments
• Proven ability to value-sell, with an analytical capability and experience leveraging ROI-based approaches to quantify success
• Experience at effectively forecasting pipeline opportunities & drive sales process discipline in the sales team.
• Outstanding communication skills (oral & written)
• High energy, bias for action, self-driven, positive, “can do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork and attention to detail, high degree of integrity and initiative
• A professional whose credibility and expertise can gain immediate acceptance and respect within the organization.

Education:

·      Preferred Education Background: Bachelor’s in engineering and/or MBA.
