The overarching goal of the UKFPO’s Service Support Officers is to run the high-profile operations of the team. Your duties will include:
The job description and person specification are an outline of the tasks, responsibilities and outcomes required of the role. The job holder will carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by their line manager.
You will be involved in key activities such as screening applications to the foundation programme, process appeals panels, troubleshooting, reviewing and updating website content and supporting the sharing of best practice in UK FP education and support.
The whole team works in close collaboration with stakeholders from the four devolved administrations, the Academy of Royal Medical Colleges (AoMRC), the Medical Schools Council (MSC) and the General Medical Council (GMC).
The ideal candidate will have a professional and welcoming manner with the ability to build relationships with both staff members and external colleagues quickly and effectively whilst managing a challenging and varied role. They will be comfortable communicating with stakeholders using a variety of methods, including email, telephone, website content and social media.
We are looking for the proven ability to effectively prioritise your own workload and have a proactive approach. You will need to work as part of the administrative team to deliver tasks that require collective effort and be able to work with a high degree of discretion and initiative, respecting confidentiality of information. It will be important for the post holder to develop and maintain an understanding of key Foundation issues to manage and prioritise workload effectively and make appropriate decisions.

The post holder is a key member of the team whose overarching goal is to enable, promote and support the effective running of the secretariat, which includes collation of data, financial and project information to improve, inform and support a portfolio of projects, services, and initiatives.
A good working knowledge of Office365 including Outlook, SharePoint, and Excel, is essential. It is important that the post holder has excellent communication and relationship-building skills as they will be expected to liaise with internal and external stakeholders using various communication and engagement tools. We are looking for a flexible team player, as the willingness to support other team members is vital.
This role is available across all HEE national and local offices as remote working is fully supported.

Salary Progression
Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 5 with a full-time starting salary of £25,655, with pay step increases after 2 years’ service and 4 years’ service.
For posts based in Inner London, the above salaries will include the additional supplement of 20% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,608 per annum and a maximum payment of £7,097 per annum.
This is offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and is based on office location.
