Details of Service
The overall aim of HSE Finance is to provide strategic and operational financial support and advice to the various streams of the Health Service Executive in achieving the organisational goals of providing high quality, integrated health and personal social services while operating within the limits of the resources available.
Reporting Arrangements
The successful candidates will report to the relevant line manager within each 6 month rotation.
The successful candidate will also liaise with the Corporate Development team and an Assigned Mentor.
Purpose of the Post
To work in various areas across HSE Finance while completing CPA exams to become a qualified accountant.
Principal Duties/ Responsibilities
Support best practice in assigned rotations to improve quality of service provided.
Work on the development and implementation of assigned tasks within a specified timeframe to support the effective delivery of priorities and targets.
Assist in the preparation of plans for allocated service area.
Provide support to each rotation in order to gain a deep understanding of relevant financial and business models.
Teamwork
Work as an effective team member, to ensure a whole systems approach and to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop and manage effective working relationships with internal/ external stakeholders as appropriate to achieve results.
Communication
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and ensure information is disseminated in a timely manner.
Liaise and network with local colleagues, under the guidance of each rotation, to maximise practical knowledge and understanding.
Demonstrate pro-active commitment to all communications with internal and external stakeholders
Provide regular progress reports to the rotation line manager, providing details of experiential learning, key projects and contributions, future plans and supports required.
Provide progress reports as required to Corporate Development in line with requirements of the Accrediting Accountancy Institute.
Have a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards as they apply to the role for example, Standards for Healthcare, National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections, Hygiene Standards etc and comply with associated HSE protocols for implementing and maintaining these standards as appropriate to the role.
To support, promote and actively participate in sustainable energy, water and waste initiatives to create a more sustainable, low carbon and efficient health service.
