Is this your next role?
You’ll be responsible for assisting Executive Management, the Audit Committee and Board of Directors, with evaluating and improving the organisation’s system of internal controls to effectively manage the risks faced in the organisation’s operating environment. As part of the Internal Audit function you’ll act independently and objectively to provide assurance to management, the Audit Committee and the Board, that the organisation is meeting its objective of mitigating its exposure to risks that could have a significant impact on the organisation by means of effective and efficient controls.

You’re a certified internal auditor with banking or professional services experience. You display excellent critical thinking skills and have an enquiring mind prepared to thoroughly investigate issues. Happy to flex, you work at a fast pace.

You’re a pro:

• Tertiary qualified, ideally having completed, or working towards Professional (CPA/CA/CIA) or Post Graduate qualifications.
• Certified Internal Auditor or audit experience in either internal or external audit.
• Banking experience with a solid understanding of bank processes.
• Work experience in delivering a risk based internal audit methodology, or similar, such as external audit or risk management experience.
• Good understanding of Prudential standards and consumer protection legislation; AML/CFT, FAA, CCCFA, Responsible Lending
• Experience designing and executing fieldwork to high quality standards and communicating key audit messages and recommendations
• Knowledge of the authorised deposit-taking sector.
• Knowledge of New Zealand Accounting and Auditing Standards.
• Knowledge of New Zealand Prudential Supervision Standards.
• Knowledge of Internal Audit best practices in the authorised deposit-taking sector.
• Great verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to develop sound relationships with stakeholders.
